| Four Guys Play Basketgirl Instead Of Basketball In This Video |  This video is nuts and could have been a Darwin Award in the making (fortunately it wasn't). There are four guys and a girl standing under a basketball hoop. They check out the hoop and prep for action. Then they bend down and help propel the girl up and back into the air above the basketball hoop. The girl does a flip in the air above the hoop and then falls straight down feet first right through the basketball hoop. So many things could have gone wrong while she was falling through the hoop it isn't even funny. Her hair could have been caught in the hoop (snap!), one of her feet could have been caught in the net itself (snap!), or she could have seriously hit her head (it looks like she did hit her head but none of the guys notice as they celebrate).

Unfortunately it is in French I think so I couldn't fully understand it but it comes to the conclusion that it is indeed faked. A basketball rim is only 18" in diameter making it nearly impossible for all but the smallest of people to fit through. What gave it away for me is that the girl just gives one brief glance back at the basket. In reality she would be taking a much closer look to jusdge the distance just right if she were really to atempt such a feat. In any event it was very well done. | | | | Posted 3/18/2005 6:48:00 AM by Roger Davis | It appears to be a hoax. By randomly pausing, you can see some evidence in individual frames. A shadow on the backboard as she is on the way down gives an idea of her distance from the backboard.
Also, look at the guy on our left, the one who holds her waist at the beginning, and finally holds under her feet to propel her. Watch him as he is preparing, aiming: He keeps looking to his LEFT to see the basket. He is directly behind her, and he SHOULD be looking straight up (leaning his head back behind himself), but he is looking LEFT.
The girl comes down in FRONT of the net, and of course the Bernoulli effect makes the net move.
