The BBC is running a story and video about a bull in Mexico City which jumped into the spectator stands of the bull ring and ran amuck. It's pretty amazing how high the bull was able to jump as the wall is probably at least six feet high but the bull just sails over it. The funny thing in the video is all the people in the stands that basically stand there and watch the bull running around crazy in the seats right in front of them and even taking photos of the bull. The one couple in white just stands there and only moves when the bull turns towards them. Apparently, only one of the people was injured. A matador killed the bull in the stands shortly thereafter. The funny thing about the news commentator is he comments something to the effect of "No one knows why the bull went crazy like that!". Yeah, I wonder why the bull tried to escape when you're trying TO KILL IT.
Real or fake? The Sri Lankan model in the photo has what appear to be 4 inch long painted fingernails. I'm pretty sure they are stick on nails but you never know (if you've ever seen the Guiness World Book Of Records photos for the longest fingernails). Her fingernails come out about four inchs and then curl at the end. On the end of each fingernail is clipped a fake butterfly. The fingernails seem to be painted transparent pink with sparkles on them and they pretty much all look the same. The caption for the photo doesn't say one way or another. If they were real I doubt you'd be able to have that amount of conformity. Imagine trying to do anything with four inch long fingernails. Yeah.
Here's a stop motion pirate video done with a couple of the Lego pirate play sets. Apparently there was no lego spyglass so the guy had to make one out of plastic or some such. Anyway, the pirate ship is cruising along in the plastic wrap water when it sights an English fort. Captain Redbeard orders the pirate ship to fire on the fort while chasing a monkey around trying to get his hat back. The British fort wakes up and blows the pirate ship out of the water. I'd be able to handle the stop motion part but I doubt I'd have the patients to do the smoke cotton firing out of the cannons and the plastic wrap water.
So I ran into an article which talks about sheep in Australia which listen to Italian opera music and their wool is twice as fine as regular wool. A bale of the super super fine (11.8 micron) wool sells for A$232,500 or A$2,500 per kilogram of wool. Regular superfine wool is ~20 microns and sells for something like A$651 per bale of wool. The article compares this to the "golden fleece" so I checked the price of gold in Australian dollars and it's A$23,928 per kilogram. So while the 11.8 micron wool doesn't compare price wise to gold it is a lot closer than regular wool. The real question is if YOU listen to opera does your hair come in finer?
Here's a skit which is a spoof on a Pirate Convention (ala AnimeCon, BlizzCon, etc). They meet up on some hotel convention center though it isn't originally the hotel that they wanted. The whole video is based on saying "Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" as much as possible which I'll admit is pretty funny. The hotel they originally wanted was the "Ritz Carrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrlton". They bring in an actor who they have no idea what he does (they only picked him for all the Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr's in his name) and bounce questions off him that have Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr answers. They slip in the joke about a new movie coming out that is rated Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. The Pirate Con ends in a drunken pirate riot.
Here is a spoof video on copyright infringement and DRM (that's digital restrictions management). The video starts out with a lady buying a DVD, "The Product" in a DVD store. Only, she doesn't quite get what she bargained for. Along with her DVD she gets her own special DRM Agent enforcement officer which follows her around, spies on her, and makes sure no one is able to copy the DVD. So when the lady talks to a friend about "sharing" the DVD with her the DRM Agent whisks her away from the "potentially illegal" encounter and calls the friend a commie pinko. Next up the a purse snatcher comes up and steals the lady's purse (which happens to contain the DVD). The DRM agant only goes after the purse snatcher once he finds out that the DVD is in it. He chases the purse snatcher down and then pulls out a gun. When the purse snatcher hides behind a mother and child he guns them all down just to get the DVD back. He brings the DVD back to the lady who originally purchased it but didn't bother bringing her purse back. That's DRM folks. Contains NSFW language.
There are quite a few (maybe 7 or so) Trunk Monkey commercials. The trunk monkey commercial for today features a lady stopped by the side of the road with a police officer asking for her licence and registration. He doesn't want to just give her a warning so she has no choice but to press the trunk monkey button. The trunk monkey comes out of the trunk and offers the officer a wad of cash. He asks the lady, "Is this your monkey?". The officer doesn't take the cash so the monkey offers a donut. Again the officer is still not amused and the commercial ends with the trunk monkey in the back of the cop cruiser.
Here is another funny "Ask A Ninja" video from the same guy who brought you the "Santa Clause Is A Ninja" video. In this video the question is something like "Where do you buy your ninja gear? Is there a Ninja Mart?". The ninja guy explains that ninja suits are the only true black material in the world as all other black dyes are really just dark dark red or green. The true black comes from the heart of a dragon according to the ninja giving the interview. Additionally, all ninjas make their own gear because otherwise they wouldn't be able to trust it. If another ninja made their gear it might be poisoned or some such. One thing he does note is that the ninjas don't make their own wings (for some reason there is a 4000 year contract with someone who makes the wings). It goes on and on like this for some time.
