Here's a video of a prototype computer input output device which is designed like a paint brush. It has a built in video camera into the head of the brush which allows it to pick up "video textures" or still colors and textures. For example, they show the paint brush recording someone blinking their eye and then painting the eye blink texture on a computer screen canvas. It's hard to tell if the screen canvas is touch sensitive or not (I think it is) as it shows someone smudging one of the images with their finger. However, it's possible that the paint brush device just records itself drawing. It picks up all kinds of textures like this fur print off this hand bag and works exactly like a paint brush after that. Watch the video for a better visual explanation.
Here's a pretty unconventional performance by a guy who's name I think is Gilles Apap. He's performing a piece by Mozart on a violin by himself. The unconventional part is that along with playing the violin he also whistles, sings, strums the violin like a ukulele, and plays a beat on the violin with his fingers. The best part is the look on the faces of the orchestra around him. They have varying looks between amazement, embarrassment, and astonishment as if they can't believe this guy is on the same stage as themselves at the same time that they are amazed at the sound he is producing.
Here is a bizarre video featuring a guy who dresses up like Darth Vader and plays a violin in a city downtown. Some of the comments of the video claim it was filmed in downtown Victoria, BC, Canada. The guy sings along with his violin busking though it's pretty difficult to make out what he's saying. At least he is somewhat original moreso than some of the buskers in other entries (like the guy from San Francisco). The video might be better if the guy actually knew how to play the violin.
There are a couple videos on YouTube featuring dogs singing along with bagpipes. This video is the main one and has a black lab singing (howling) while the dog's owner plays the bagpipes. Apparently the dog sings all the time according to the caption of the video. There is a second video featuring two dogs side by side with one singing (howling) to bagpipes as well. In the second video the black dog can't figure out why the brown dog is howling and tries to nip him to make him stop. The black dog just seems mildly annoyed by the bagpipes instead.
Here's a video of a Christmas light setup syncronized to music. Apparently the score is Trans-Siberian Orchestra's Christmas Eve Sarajevo and the lights do a pretty good job of accenting the music. Not all of the lights are set to the music as some of the front white lights on the left and right side of the setup are not syncronized. The real question is does this guy have that thing going on the entire time or he only setup the syncronization to record it. It probably drives the neighbors nuts if it repeats over and over like that the whole time for a month.
Here's a funny beer commercial which plays on the same idea that the "One Red Paperclip" guy used which was to keep trading away an item for a bigger item until he got a house. In the commercial the guy starts out with a bottle of beer and then trades it for a portable radio. He trades that for some balloons which he trades for a katana which he trades for a rack of suits and on and on. At one point he trades some pink poodles for a girlfriend which he then trades to a cop for his horse. Finally he trades for what I think is a Rolls Royce. The very last trade he makes is the Rolls Royce for a case of the beer that he started out with.
Here's a demonstration video of what can happen when a lithium ion battery explodes in a laptop. The video is a little slow so you'll probably want to click forward past some of it. In any event the first 'cell' in the battery explodes releasing some smoke and damaging the casing. The next cell explodes because of the heat from the first cell and blows a hole in the top of the cashing. Each cell explosion is progressively worse than the last one with the fifth or sixth cell explosion throwing out a pretty good size jet of flame.
Here's a video of a high school band playing their version of the Halo theme song. It sounds pretty good and features a violin, electric guitar, and drums. This version of the video is in their 'studio' AKA the living room. There are two additional versions in the related section on the host site where they play the Halo theme song at their high school talent show. The sound is much better in this video but lacks the stage effects. It reminds me of TheMetalBandWhichShallNotBeNamed which partnered with a symphony. I wonder how Bungie feels about fanmusic. Will they pull a TheMetalBandWhichShallNotBeNamed or let it be?
