Video Of A Mesh Sphere Virtual Reality Environment Called A VirtuSphere

VirtuSphere VideoInterestbing video of an attempt at a 360 degree virtual reality system. The person puts on a head set display and holds some kind of joystick (or game gun) and then climbs inside a metal mesh sphere. The sphere is sitting on what are probably some kind of roller balls which allow the sphere to roll in any direction. The person walks 'in place' around inside the sphere and their walking is translated into the 3D virtual game environment. Apparently it detects if you duck down or run and translates that into the game as well. I think it would probably be pretty strange to walk inside this thing because the floor would always be around the edges of your walking area.

Check out the full video of two different people testing out the VirtuSpheres below or click over and view it on the host site.

Woman In China Has Three Armed Baby Boy For The Win

Three Armed Baby PhotoSo the latest most emailed photo on Yahoo is this photo of a three armed baby that was born in China. There isn't any information on if his third arm actually works normally or not but by the way it is there I'm thinking it probably does. I did see some additional info on another site which said he is missing a kidney though. Additionally, it looks like the normal arm on the same side as the third arm is also somewhat non-normal (the elbow seems wrong and so does the wrist and length of the thumb). So now they are breeding three armed Chinese ninjas in China to take over the world or is this just from some serious river pollution? If you had three arms you could carry a secret weapon, use two mice at the same time, or even be 33% better than all the other ninjas on the planet. It's the new rage. Why settle for only two?

Check out the full sized photo of this kid with three arms and be envious for a good time.

Treadboard Drives Around Like The Hoverboard in Back To The Future II

Scarpar VideoSo here is a video of what seems like a cross between a snow board, a skate board, and a snowmobile and/or tank. There is a tread at the front of the board and a tread at the back of the board (like a snowmobile) except that the board is the size of a snow board. The engine is in the middle with the riders feet in front and back of the engine. The engine seems kind of big (like the size of a lawnmower engine). In any event the video shows this 'Scarpar' driving around on snow, logs, dirt, grass, and all kinds of other terrain. Reminds me of the hoverboards in 'Back to the Future II'. Now all they need to do is combine this thing with the military drone technology for the win.

Cult Of Pepsi Monastery Worships The Top Of A Pepsi Can

Cult Of Pepsi Commercial VideoSo here is a Pespi commercial centered around a mythical Asian Cult of Pepsi. According to the commercial there is a group of monks that worship the top of a pepsi can. For some unknown reason a white kid joins the Cult of Pepsi school. When he grows up and is able to break bricks like a ninja they initiate him into the Cult of Pepsi by all of them drinking a Pepsi. The white guy finally figures out what it is that they worship (the top of the Pepsi can) and which is also the same symbol which is on their foreheads. He slams his own forehead down on the Pepsi can and gives himself the symbol. A more realistic Cult of Pepsi portrayal might have been a group of teethless whale people.

Square Watermelons Raw Horse Meat And Sparrow On A Stick In Japan

Square Watermelon PhotoI saw a photo of a square watermelon over on another blog but there was no additional information to go with it. Looking for more information I came across a site in Japan which talks about square watermelons (and other foods). Apparently they grow square watermelons in a glass box and in Japan they cost something like 10,000 yen a pop at the time the webpage was written. It says they are a luxury item that would be given as a corporate gift. Other foods listed on the page are horse meat (with photo), grilled sparrow on a stick, living fish, and blowfish. So do other melons like cantelope grow square in a box or is the rind not tough enough? Would oranges grow square?

Check out the larger photo of the square watermelon and a photo of some horse meat.

Lego Stop Motion Rave Bass Attack Video For The Win

Lego Rave Attack VideoHere is a video done using legos and stop motion to mimic a rave club scene. Some lego cars pull up to the blue cube club and the lego guys go inside. Next a crowd of lego people show up an go inside as well. The video fades to the inside of the club and has all the lego guys brake dancing and tripping out to techno music. The stop motion is timed to the beat of the music so it works pretty well overall. Additionally, every stop motion beat the lighting is also changed which gives a strobe effect like you'd see in a rave club. Now they need legos with LEDs built into them.

Oblivion Domino Rube Goldberg Machine Video Game Physics Video

Oblivion Domino VideoHere is a video of someone who setup a domino topple using books and the physics engine in Oblivion. In case you live under a rock Oblivion is a sandboxy video game which came out recently. The books are all in a row like they were dominos and the guy kicks it off by tipping the first one over. It does have some interesting twists thrown into it like swords that tip over and cut through rope knocking over watermelons which fall on more books and continue the effect. It also seems to have Rube Goldbergish machines built into it including a wiffle ball rolling down stairs, people crashing through stacks of barrels, and a mace and chain swinging to bridge some gaps.

Video Of Trojan Nuclear Power Plant Cooling Tower Implosion Demolition

Nuclear Plant Implosion VideoSo apparently the Trojan Nuclear Power Plant (what kind of name is that for a nuke plant?) in Rainier, OR was retired and this is a video of them imploding one of the cooling towers. They placed changes around the base, a fourth of the way up, and about half way up (you can see the charges as a black line zigzagging around the tower before they blow it up). The tower falls silently and disappears beneath it's own smoke. It takes about ten seconds after they first blast it for a giant rolling bomb (of it hitting the ground I assume) to reach the location of the camera. There are at least ten different videos from different angles of this same implosion linked off this video.

Check out the full video of this nuclear plant demolition below or click over and view it on the host site (plus other angles).
