Here's a photo of a dwarf mini horse. The people that own the horse breed small horses and this small horse just happens to be a dwarf mini horse. The horse is about five years old now, weighs 60 pounds, and is 17 inchs tall. Normal small horses live about 34 years but because of her size this horse will probably live 17 years. The owners have named the horse Thumbelina according to the article. Apparently the horse prefers to live with the dogs rather than the other horses because they are more her size. They need to get one of these for the miniture guy in Nepal.
The most emailed photo up on Yahoo right now is this photo from China of a woman who is 2.36 meters tall. Yao Defen is 36 years old according to the caption of the photo and you can see her sitting on the right in the photo. For a comparison there is another women sitting on the left side of the photo and I would assume the other woman is maybe five and a half feet tall. Not only is Yao Defen tall but she is pretty much a giant (just look at the size of her shows). One of her shoes are as big as the other woman's head. There is also another photo of them comparing her hand to a regular sized man's hand and her hand looks like the size of a dinner plate.
Someone went and put togather a doll house version of Bag End from Lord Of The Rings (aka Bilbo's House). They have some pretty detailed photos up of various rooms inside Bag End that they put togather. If I remember correctly when they made the LOTR movie they built a miniture size Bag End as well. This dollhouse however was either built by an amateur or professional doll house maker. It includes working lights, working fireplace (fake), detailed rugs, working doors, and a complete outside plus detachable roof.
I think I may have seen it all now with this latest photo of a giant church built out of legos. Apparently the lego church is dedicated to the lady's cat who died at some point during or after the lego church was built. I'd say she did a pretty good job contructing it though (especially with the "glass" bricks in the background). It's hard to see the scale of the lego building from the if you haven't played with legos before. Still, there are some additional photos of close up detail and the construction process over on the website of the lego church. Apparently the roof lifts off letting the builder take photos of inside the lego church.
Whoaaaaaa Nelly... er Margo. Yahoo's most emailed photo right now is this photo of Margo Dydek from Poland who is a basketball player for the Connecticut Suns. Apparently she is seven feet two inchs tall and if you click on over to view the full photo you'll see just how amazing that is. In the full size photo there is another player trying to guard this woman on the basketball court but she only comes up to Margo's waist. Oops. Try for a bigger guard next time guys? Seriously, most doors are what, around 6 feet tall? That means she has to bend down to walk through almost every door in New York (where this photo was taken). That would suck.
Jaws is real! The most emailed photo over on Yahoo right now is this photo of a 1100 pound tiger shark caught near Martha's Vineyard. Apparently they have a yearly "monster shark derby" there where I assume whoever brings in the biggest shark wins. The guys that caught this shark didn't win though because they brought it back six minutes too late. I find it hard to believe that the shark is exactly 1100 pounds. The real question is did they actually eat this thing or just let it rot? Not your biggest sports fisherman fan here.
The photo that is holding the "Most Emailed Photo" on Yahoo for at least the last week or so is this photo of a giant catfish that was caught in Thailand. According to the caption for the photo the fish weights 646 pounds and was caught in a river in northern Thailand. It also says (in a run on sentence no less) that environmentalists and officials were negotiating for it's release but the fish died before that happened. The fishermen who caught the fish ate it after it died.
