In this photo a backhoe was being use to remove a deck from behind a house when it all went wrong. Apparently the backhoe driver drove the backhoe into the pool by mistake while they were working. That looks to be a pretty deep pool as even the tires of the backhoe are under water. I've seen other photos like this where cars drove through a fence into the pool but I've never seen a backhoe submerged in a pool like this before. They probably had to bring a crane it to remove the backhoe so that it didn't destroy the sides of the pool while they were pulling it out.
Apparently Hummers can't float. The Hummer in this photo is half submerged in a frozen over lake or river in Ontario, Canada. It isn't possible to tell how deep the water is in the photo but it looks like it is probably pretty dangerous for the guy to be sitting on top of the Hummer as they pull it out. The more that I look at the photo the more it makes me think it is just a river or pond and the Hummer broke through the ice. You can make out tracks in the snow off behind the Hummer leading into the water.
If you've never heard of Despair, Inc. before they sell demotivational posters (the opposite of motivational posters). The photo in this poster is of a sinking ship and the poster is titled "Mistakes". The caption of the poster is "It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others." Highly amusing considering all the links to Darwin Award finalists we post on NinjaWax all the time. They list the poster as being great for "morale building, cautionary tales, boating enthusiasts, and disaffected college students." If you know someone who is a walking Darwin Award finalist you might want to forward it on to them.
Well it isn't everyday that you get to see pictures of steaming piles of cow crap posted on national news sites but there it is. According to the caption of the photo over on Yahoo there is 2000 tons of cow manure (aka CRAP) in a pile and it spontaneously combusted. That is a seriously large pile of cow crap. On fire. The pile of cow CRAP has been smoldering for over two months now despite attempts to put the fire out. The steaming pile of cow crap is located in Nebraska so don't let anyone from Nebraska ever tell you Nebraska isn't full of crap. Truth be told it looks like it is.
Apparently the latest fashion at the Cavalera's Fashion show is to have your ass hang out the back of your pants. Forget pants that close in the back. These new pants give you a nice breeze wherever you go. Be it the beach or just shopping the pants have you covered (or not in this case). Anyway I am always baffled by fashion shows. What is the point exactly of designing some suits of clothes that will never be sold? Maybe these new pants are some kind of camouflage.
Over on Yahoo there is an image of a cow that doesn't look like it can even see because it has so much hair hanging in it's face. I've never seen a cow with that much hair; it looks like a Wooly Mammoth! The cow is standing in what looks like 6 to 8 inchs of snow. And the hair isn't only on the cows head, the entire cow (except for it's lower legs) is covered in long fur. It makes sense that cows that live in the snow have long hair but I've never seen one before. At any rate the caption on the photo claims it is a Highland cow in Scotland.
If have ever seen Monty Python And The Holy Grail this photo will be familiar to you. At the top of the image it pictures a rabbit about to be caught by a hungry wolf. But the funny photo under it shows what really happened between the rabbit and the wolf. The rabbit is still sitting there and the wolf is nothing but bones. The caption for the image is "Looks Can Be Deceiving". They could make this one into a demotivational poster from Despair, Inc.
Apparently in 1983 when Bill Gates was a rising mogul he did a photo shoot for the magazine Teen Beat. There are two different photos on MonkeyMethods that were blogged on Sunday. Suffice to say they are pretty amusing. I wonder what Bill G. thinks about those pictures now. Oh wait, he is the richest man in the world, I'll wager he doesn't care about some funny looking photos from over twenty years ago. For the rest of us peons they are an interesting (and funny) look at Bill G. from 1983. It doesn't look like he's changed all that much. As a side note, comments on the blog post about the pictures say something to the effect that the pictures are actually from 1985.
