Glinx is another Bejewled style free flash game. You must create chains of colorful jewels. The longer the chain the better it is. There is a timed version and an unlimited time version. One interesting thing about it is it seems to allow you to create a chain OUTSIDE of the playable area which is something I haven't seem before. Again, the graphics and sound are professional so if you like Bejeweled style games go for this one as well.
Another solitaire card game brought to you by Yahoo. The graphics are polished and it has a somewhat different spin than other solitaire games. If you like solitaire check it out. Make sure you read the instructions on how to play though. I'm not sure how Golf exactly fits into this but there you have it. Apparently you have a single deck that you slam the cards into. When there are no visible cards to drop into the single deck you draw a new card and then try to match cards up or down against it.
A simple game done in java where you control a space ship and you must navigate it to avoid obstacles that appear in your path. The game is simple and the graphics are single color vector based. Fun for a little bit but it quickly gets repetative. If you want to get your retro arcade action going on though this might be just the game. It looks a lot like really old mid 80's arcade flight and shooter games with it's four colors and fake polygons style graphics.
Interesting multiplayer word game. You join in a game with maybe 8 other players and you all have to find words out of the given letters. You have a limited time to find all the words. It is Windows only and brought to you by Yahoo. Probably requires a Yahoo account as well. This game is similar to Boggle and other such word finding games on the Internet. It also has tournaments, ladder ranking leagues, and other such multiplayer ranking systems. Check it out if you like word puzzles.
Bounce Out is another free java game in the same vein as Bejeweled and the like. You have a bunch of colored balls that you must get three of the same kind in a straight line. You also only have a certain amount of time to do it in and if you fail it explodes. Requiring that you get three in a line instead of just grouping three of the same color togather is a bit more challenging than other versions of this same game. The graphics are passable but nothing to jump up and down over. Overall though if you like Bejeweled style games or you don't have flash installed on your machine give this one a shot.
In this flash game you are a Wizard who must run around, collect potions, and dodge bad guys. It is a side scroller similar to Mario. The graphics remind me of Merlin and King Arthur though it would be nice if it was a little bigger. The sky color is a little much as well as I think they could have chosen a better blue. Potions come in red, green, and blue and you can also collect yellow stars. There doesn't seem to be any way to destroy the enemies you encounter (don't try jumping on them as it doesn't work). The potions you collect go into a potion counter in the top right of the screen. Maybe there is an attack key I'm missing.
MotoCross is a free flash game where you drive a stunt motocycle in a stadium. It takes awhile to download even on broadband. The actual background is professional looking but the character graphics are retro 80s. The gameplay is a little strange (or just a little hard). You can go forward, lean forward, and lean backwards. I spent most of my time flipping the motocycle over and landing on my face. Give it a shot if you want a challenge. The second level seems to be bugged as well because you appear to be riding the motorcycle on thin air.
GemDrop is a free java applet game which seems to be a cross between Tetris, Diamond Mine, and Bubble Bobble. You drop gems in from the top like Tetris but there is only one gem at a time that you drop and you must line up three of the same type of gem next to each other for them to disappear and you earn points. The screen in inverted on Bubble Bobble but feels a lot like the same type of puzzle game. The graphics are professional and colorful so give it a shot if you like any of the other three games I mentioned.
