There isn't a caption to go with this car accident photo so there is no telling how the accident happened. However, it looks like the driver of the VW Bug is standing there on the right as he has some bandages (including an eye patch). I would say that guy is probably pretty lucky to be alive based on the condition of that VW Bug. That thing is totally demolished like it was run over by a monster truck or a tank. More realisticly I'd say somehow the VW Bug was hit on the passenger side by a truck which flipped and that is why the hood is crushed. It looks like it happened in Central America or South America based on the signs in the background.
Here we have a car accident of a 2004 TVR T350 T which looks completely demolished. However, the passenger and the driver both survived with only minor injuries. The caption for the photo says the car was coming down a slippery slope when the back end slid causing the car to hit a curb. The side of the car spun and hit a street sign before coming to a halt. That car must be made of fiberglass because it doesn't sound like to bad of an accident unless they were really going fast. Looking at the car though that thing is just destroyed. I'll wager the insurance company wrote that one off as a loss.
According to the caption for this car accident photo the back of this Corvette caught fire which caused the damage you see in the photo. I find this a little strange because the engine compartment is in the front of the car. It must have been the wiring or some such that caused an accidental fire like that? As you can see in the photo the whole back of the car is basically burned off but the fire didn't move forward into the driver compartment. The fiberglass a lot of these sporty cars have built into them just melts away when they get into an accident that involves fire.
Apparently the accident in this photo happened in a tar and salt mine in Fort McMurray. The red pickup truck parked in front of the dump truck to do some repairs. The operator of the dump truck is basically blind to where the pickup was parked. He was eating lunch and when he finished he started up the dump truck and tried to move out. Crunch. The driver of the red pickup wasn't in the pickup truck at the time. There are photos of the smashed pickup from multiple different angles.
According to the caption of the photo this is a multi-vehicle accident between four different pickup trucks on the race war. The race took place last Friday (Feb 18th 2005) at Daytona International Speedway. It looks like in the photo that the blue truck there completely lost it's tire as it is blowing sparks all over from it's driver side front wheel. The blue trucks hood is also crunched pretty good. In the larger photo there are two other truck, one of which has spun out into the grass at center of the track, and another where the hood looks like it is about to fly off. Both of the other trucks have smashed hoods as well.
According to the website where this photo is posted the woman driving the car was trying to find a parking spot but instead of hitting the brakes she hit the gas instead. Suffice to say she shot forward off of the pier and hit a yacht that was parked there. The front of the car got stuck on the yacht and the back of the car got stuck on the pier. The driver of the car (which could be the woman in the photo) climbed out of the door of the car onto the hood and the people on the boat helped her off of the car. I assume the pier on the other side of the boat kept the boat in place and the car from falling into the water (lucky for the driver).
Another crazy photo over at the Wrecked Exotics website shows a BMW that has been sawed in half by a tractor saw. According to the site the tractor operator backed the trackor into the the BMW while the saw was running. One of the saw blades caught in the car and proceeded to rip into the car and pull the tractor up on top of the BMW before the operator could turn the tractor off. The saw on the back of the tractor is usually used to dig trenchs so it didn't have any problem ripping the BMW nearly in half while the rest of the tractor crushed the BMW trunk. It states that it happened in Orel, Russia. Oops!
