Here's a five page article which details multiple stories of people who have hair growing long all over them (see photo). There are multiple black and white photos of these people with exceedingly long hair and a few drawings as well. In a couple of the photos it appears that the same long hair trait was passed on to their children. One Russian guy named Adrian with the overly long hair problem had yellow eyes and greyish skin. Adrian had a son which also had the same problem and who later become "Jo-Jo the Dog Faced Boy". The description of the Adrian guy sure sounds like the beginnings of a werewolf myth though with this yellow eyes, greyish skin, covered in hair, and living on the forest. Or at the very least a perpetuation and reaffirmation of the existing werewolf myths.
One of the top most emailed photos on Yahoo right now is this photo of an albino alligator which is currently on display at the Los Angeles Zoo. Apparently there are only around 30 known albino alligators in the world in a population of around 5 million alligators. They are albino because of a genetic mutation where they don't produce melanin which is what gives them their normal color. Additionally albinos don't last long in the wild because they don't have their normal protection from predators and the sun according to a second article on the subject.
A farmer in Japan who has been growing tomatos for 30 years recently grew this giant mutant tomato which he says looks like a Chinese lion mask. Apparently the mutant tomato is about three times normal size at 10 cm across and weighting 150 grams (or about a third of a pound). So is the farm down wind from one of the nuclear blasts from WWII or possibly getting water from one of their nuclear plants. Next thing you know they will clone this mutant tomato and it will be a delicacy in Japan like square watermelons.
So one of the most emailed photos for today on Yahoo is this image taken at the right angle so it looks like the gymnist in the photo is missing a head. Instead the gymnists left foot is photographed where the head would usually have been. It's pretty crazy that you can't even see the chin of the gymnist. If you think that is weird looking think about the photographer that took the photo. The photographer had to be at the right place at the right time and then had to have been looking for weird photos so as not to discard this one.
So for some unknown reason the most emailed photo on Yahoo right now is this photo of an arrangement of 'blue roses'. As you can see in the photo the roses are not even remotely blue so I have no idea how blue has turned into lavender is the magical fantasy land of Japan. They might be blue based (verses red based) lavender but these are not blue. Back to the drawing board there DNA scientist guys. How about mixing in some jelly fish DNA so the roses can glow in the dark for the win.
So apparently once a year in Germany they have a beard competition. One of the most emailed photos on Yahoo right now is of this guy with a windmill built into his beard. He has it combed down the middle with one side of his beard moving off like some waves or hills and the other side curled up into the shape of a windmill. It even has four trimmed pieces of beard spoked out as windmill veins. As far as I can tell they are still part of his beard and have just been trimmed to make the windmill veins.
Yahoo had a photo of a five legged cow at one point which I blogged about but which doesn't seem to be available anymore. In searching for the photo I stumbled on this "Sideshow World" website which has all kinds of photos of mutated animals such as two headed cows, two faced kittens, a second photo of a cyclops kitten (not the same kitten as the most recent photo which appeared on Yahoo/AP). It also features multiple images of cows with five or six legs in some instances as well as a seven towed cat and an eight legged lamb. They also have posters and such from old carnivals and sideshows one of which features a drawing of a two legged dog. Crazy stuff (photos not for the faint of heart).
Well these mutated photos are flying fast and furious now aren't they? From two headed snakes to today's one eyed cyclops kitten. According to the caption of the article this kitten was born with one eye and no nose. It only lived about a day and the owner named it Cy. If you ever wondered where they came up with all the Greek monster myths like the hydra and the cyclops this is probably one good example of where they came from. And you though dragons were fake too huh? Wait until you meet a 12 foot long komodo dragon lizard.
