The guy in this video demostrates the difference between a CD player that is playing a CD and a CD player that is not playing a CD in space. Apparently the spinning CD causes a gyroscopic effect which keeps the playing player stabilized.

This commercial�has some pretty amazing particle effects but as far as branding goes I have no idea what they are trying to sell. The first particle effect is a bean bag made out of floating glass spheres, next up is a feather clowd around a woman, and lastly some kind of reverse zero gravity water bath bubble.

Here's a video of a guerilla 'marketin'g tactic from Holland where they drive around with a projector in their vehicle projecting a skateboarder riding around on the top eve of buildings. It's a cool effect but didn't seem like it would be very effective. How long until we see Sonic running around NYC on buildings?

Here's a video of a high school band playing their version of the Halo theme song. It sounds pretty good and features a violin, electric guitar, and drums. This version of the video is in their 'studio' AKA the living room. There are two additional versions in the related section on the host site where they�play the Halo theme song at their high school talent show. The sound is much better in this video but lacks the stage effects. It reminds me of TheMetalBandWhichShallNotBeNamed which partnered with a symphony. I wonder how Bungie feels about fanmusic. Will they pull a TheMetalBandWhichShallNotBeNamed or let it be?

Here's a video where a hamster runs through what looks like a cardboard cutout of a side scroller video game. It seems like for most of the video the 'level' is up and down but for some of it they turn the 'level' on it's side to make the hamster go where they want it to. In any event the effect is of a hamster running around in a side scroller video game collecting food treats. They add monsters and moving platforms by using wires with paper cutouts glued to them. At a couple points in the video the hamster things about climbing out of the 'level' completely.

Here is a pretty good Star Wars fanfilm filmed�out in�the Maryland woods. The theme is two�force users�face off in the woods where I assume one of them is a Sith and one is a Jedi. The interesting part about the fanfilm though is the Jedi guy reads a letter from a dead Civil War soldier to his wife. In the context of the Star Wars universe the references to the Civil War and the Revolution fit pretty well. The lightsaber effects are also� pretty professional looking. One thing I did notice was that when one of them dies at the end his lightsaber drops but doesn't turn off.

Here is an article from New Zealand about a baby chick which had four legs. Apparently it recently died because of digestive issues and they are now keeping it in a freezer before having it stuffed. So the question is have you ever seen a four legged chicken before? And how many of todays animals are the way they are because of a mutation which happened a long time ago. If you think about it they should get the DNA from this baby chick and see if they can clone it without the side effects. That would give you two extra legs per chicken for food consumption. Combine this with the featherless chickens and you'd have a winner.

This video features bloopers from a popular professional sports fishing�show. It starts out with the guy running over his fishing pole (or something to that effect) which causes him to get out of his truck. The only problem is that somehow his mic wire is caught and he stumbles around for a few seconds. Next up he somehow gets his line caught in the prop and it sucks the fishing pole in. In the next video clip of the video he sticks his fishing pole into the ceiling fan breaking it off. Following this he somehow lets the motor come off of the boat and it goes wild in his hand. The best one is probably when he gets the line caught in the tree and while pulling on the tree something falls out of the tree onto him. You'll have to watch the video to see that one.

The guy in this video has a glass miror with two ball bearings on top of it. The ball bearings have been electric welded togather and the guy starts them spinning. He then uses a pen tube to blow down on top of them causing the ball bearings to spin even faster (up to 10,000 RPMs). Next up he takes various key chain LEDs and holds them around the ball bearings. The bearings reflect the light from the LEDs�causing them to look like neon spiral tubes. Next up he does a similar illusion with 4 clear plastic marbles which have been fixed togather in a pyramid. He spins them like a top and blows on them to speed it up. Again he takes the LEDs and holds them around it to produce a neon light tube�effect.

This video features a 'Manta Ray' which appears to be a cross between waterskiing, jetskiing, and parasailing. There is an inflatable wing shaped 'Manta Ray' which is pulled by a waterskiing boat. The Manta Ray is shaped with 'wings' on either side of where the rider stands in it. The wings catch air and it lifts off from the water so it is flying like a kite behind the ski boat. The disclaimers on the video are pretty funny as they state something to the effect that the people in the video are professionals and riding the Manta Ray is tough. It goes on to say that you shouldn't fly it higher than you are willing to fall. All the crazy 'sports' come out of Australia don't they?
