Wearable Dress With An LED Display And Controls Where You Can Play Pong

Pong Dress VideoHere is a pretty weird video of a dress that has a LED grid on the front of it and two controls which let you play pong on the dress display. The video is kind of weird as it looks like it was filmed in some Eastern European country. On top of this there is scrolling text at the bottom of the video which is also pretty weird. In any event the lady is standing there in the dress in what looks like an arcade. Two guys walk up and she gives each of them a game controler. They play pong on the dress display. The display is very very low resolution.

Check out the video of the pong dress for your below or click over and view it on the host site.

Guy Built A Moving Stargate Out Of Legos For A Good Time

Lego Stargate PhotosA guy build a moving stargate out of legos and has a bunch of photos to show for it. Unfortinately there doesn't seem to be a video of the starget in action. However, he has the starget hooked up to a RCX treadmill (whatever that is) which spins the stargate around for a random number of seconds and repeats that seven times. The chevrons (the little red things on the gate) have LED lego blocks in them which light up as well. Legos seem to be a pretty way to fast prototype things based on some of the other projects I've seen done with them.

Check out all of the photos of this lego stargate for yourself.

Philips Booth Demonstrates Light Up Fabric At A Tradeshow In This Video

Lumalive VideoHere's a video from what looks like some kind of tradeshow at the Philips booth where they demonstrate light emitting fabric called lumalive. They have people wearing t-shirts with moving light animations on them, chairs with moving light images in the backs of them, and a couch with the back filled with light moving icons. The video is pretty light on technical details however. As far as I can tell the tshirts look pretty bulky (somewhat like a bulletproof vest). The back of the chair though looks pretty good and the woman even presses in on the light area to show that it isn't just a flat light emittingsurface. I'm guess it's either embedded LEDs, electroluminescence, or a flexable LCD.

Check out the video of the light up t-shirts below or click over and view it on the host site.

Neon LED Light Effect Illusion On Super Fast Spinning Ball Bearings

Spinning Illusion VideoThe guy in this video has a glass miror with two ball bearings on top of it. The ball bearings have been electric welded togather and the guy starts them spinning. He then uses a pen tube to blow down on top of them causing the ball bearings to spin even faster (up to 10,000 RPMs). Next up he takes various key chain LEDs and holds them around the ball bearings. The bearings reflect the light from the LEDscausing them to look like neon spiral tubes. Next up he does a similar illusion with 4 clear plastic marbles which have been fixed togather in a pyramid. He spins them like a top and blows on them to speed it up. Again he takes the LEDs and holds them around it to produce a neon light tubeeffect.

Video Of A Cool Looking Flexible LED Display In Action

Bendable LED Display VideoIn this video they demo a flat array of LEDs (called a flexgrid) which works like a low resolution display. Each LED in the matrix has a plastic or glass box around it and can be individually switched on and off. The whole display can be bent into a tube shape and controlled via computer (I assume). In the video the guy bends it around in the dark as it flashs various patterns over it's surface. It would probably work pretty good as one of those scrolling word signs too. The original post about this bendable LED display mentioned it's possible use in clothing. How about LED display doormats?

Video Of A Robotic Rubiks Cube Solver For The Win

Robot Rubik Solver VideoThis video features what appears to be a college student robot project. The difference here is that instead of a robot that walks around this robot takes a rubik cube and solves it. As far as I can tell they have one camera on each side of the cube so that the computer robot can analyze the state of the cube and then run a solve on it. While it is solving the cube there are also flashs of light so I'm not sure if they are camera flashs or LEDs. In any event it looks like the robot rubik cube solver solves the rubik cube in around 36 seconds. I assume that it works like computer run chess applications by running as many solving tests as possible until it gets a hit path that solves the cube.

Check out the full video of the robot solving the rubik cube below or click over and view it on the host site.

Lego Stop Motion Rave Bass Attack Video For The Win

Lego Rave Attack VideoHere is a video done using legos and stop motion to mimic a rave club scene. Some lego cars pull up to the blue cube club and the lego guys go inside. Next a crowd of lego people show up an go inside as well. The video fades to the inside of the club and has all the lego guys brake dancing and tripping out to techno music. The stop motion is timed to the beat of the music so it works pretty well overall. Additionally, every stop motion beat the lighting is also changed which gives a strobe effect like you'd see in a rave club. Now they need legos with LEDs built into them.

Rocketman Flies Up Over A Crowd Wearing A Backpack Rocket For A Good Time

Rocket Guy VideoHere is a video of Dan Schlund at a fairgrounds in Melbourne (I assume Australia). He has a rocket pack strapped to his back and they do a count down until he lifts off. I'm not sure if this is the same guy who has been doing the rocketpack deal since it was featured in James Bond or not. Anyway they count down to one and the guy lifts off and then flies up over and around above the crowd. He's up pretty high and then comes circling back down to where he took off from. The video doesn't show him landing and I'm not sure why they had the sparks going before he lifted off. He should have had some kind of LED lighting system on him.

Check out the full video of the rocketman below or click on over and view it at their site.

Mr. Potato Head Goes Star Wars With Darth Tator

Darth Tater PhotoIt looks like Hasbro is getting into the Star Wars spirit this year with their new Mr. Potato Head themed Darth Tater. Scary. It looks like he has a potato bodyand all the accessories are from Darth Vader including mask, arms, light saber, cape, helmet, and feet. The eyes are Mr. Potato Head though; I'd know that look anywhere. It looks like you will be able to buy it in February. I wonder if the light saber has an LED in it or they just went with a classic no break toy on this one.

Another Star Wars Toy, Darth Tator.
